KOREA An outbreak of acne in a Korean cosmetics company could be linked to an outbreak of the deadly coronavirus, the nation’s top health official said.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday it was investigating the possible link between the outbreak of coronaviruses in Korea and the outbreak in France.
The Korean-based cosmetics company is owned by the government-controlled Korea Cosmetics Company.
Korean cosmetics companies face an onslaught of high-priced and high-contrast products to cater to high-end consumers, but they also face competition from China and India.
China has launched its own investigation into the coronavirodious outbreak and is expected to make recommendations soon, the health ministry said in a statement on Friday.
India’s Ministry of Health has also warned against using Korean cosmetics and other products that have been linked to the coronivirus.
The World Health Organization, the global body of international health agencies, said on Wednesday that the coronovirus is likely to affect the worldwide population by the end of this year.
